Iced coffee is one of my favorite ways to splurge year-round. That being said, there is nothing worse than accidentally treating yourself to a diluted, over-iced, flavorless let-down. So that you can avoid this shame/disappointment/embarrassment I have…
Great reviews of coffee around Philly! I’ve only just recently found the magic within the city and have been to 2 of the places listed in the past week! La Colombe Torrefaction is a cozy coffee shop in Rittenhouse serving THE BEST coffee, hands down (I’ve always been a huge fan of La Colombe), and I just went to the Old City Coffee at the Reading Terminal Market the other day — another great pick!
I’ve been a barista in Philly for three years… Some of this I agree with, some of this is just bunk. The author doesn’t even touch upon how these coffees are brewed, what type of coffee they to begin with, where it’s roasted, where it’s sourced, oh and they completely miss a lot of really good shops in the process. Uh, basically, birdwings, you let me know if you want to meet up for some good coffee and we can have an awesome little city-date. I promise not to rant at you about my coffee-feelings!
P.S. I deleted the La Colombe icon because I cannot even stand to have it in my stream.
“Some people turn sad awfully young. No special reason, it seems, but they seem almost to be born that way. They bruise easier, tire faster, cry quicker, remember longer and, as I say, get sadder younger than anyone else in the world. I know, for I’m one of them.”—Ray Bradbury, Dandelion Wine (via thatkindofwoman)
Some people trivialize depression (often unintentionally) by dropping a platitude on a depressed person as if that is the one thing they needed to hear. While some of these thoughts have been helpful to some people (for example, some find that praying is very helpful),…
As someone who has never been clinically depressed, it can be difficult for me to know what to say to actually help — or at least not make things worse. Even on the internet, this is something I struggle with. So an article like this is extremely nice to see and I will be taking notes so as to better respond in the future. I know it’s been making the rounds, but I can’t be the only one who needs this type of assistance.
“What in gay hell? People are being murdered, the planet can’t handle the perpetual barrage of human-caused devastation, and I’m being asked to work for the right to eat legitimized three-tier wedding cake? Is revolution going to come before or after the champagne toast?”—
